Rat microsomal proteins focused in 17 cm pH 3 – 10 IPG strips and separated in large format 2D gels. Replicate gels were stained using LavaPurple and SYPRO Ruby. The spot number in each gel was calculated by the Malanie 3 software (Gene Bio). (Taken from Mackintosh et al., 2003, Proteomics 3, 2273 – 2288.)
